Abel is working in the kitchen where he is learning how to cook and bake food. Since there's plenty of food and fresh ingredients that he finds from all over the valley and from the markets, it's on his bucket list in learning to make his favorite dishes by himself.
That's when his phone starts ringing, he picked it up, and Sheena will see Abel wearing an apron over normal clothes and his long silver hair is tied up in a ponytail. Instead of the black priest robe he usually wears, it's a cute white apron with a variety of cats prints all over a pale blue shirt where he rolled up his sleeves.
He fixed his glasses in place.
"Sheena? Is that you? Hi, Sheena. Do you have something for me? Do you want me to come over by your house and pick it up?"
At that, a small laugh, but his eyes light up with curiosity and excitement. Abel enjoys getting a surprise present, and she's keeping him in suspense over that promising mystery present.
"It's never a bad time. In fact, if you would come, I have lunch ready, and you can join me for a luncheon. I'm making lunch for me and his Holiness...I mean, Alec. It would be a pleasure if you join us for lunch too."
"A blueberry pie? I haven't had that before. Usually I make apple pies. Well, I certainly wanted to try yours! So please feel free to bring it over. I'll open the door to the front, so you can come in."
Should Sheena come over later, the front door to Abel's house is indeed open. The house is light up. She just has to make her way over the garden, and once she enter the house, Abel will be in the back the kitchen, and by then he already have lunch ready and set up on the kitchen table.
"Really? I hope you like it." She made the pie sweet--but not too sweet--with berries from her own farm. "And maybe we could trade recipes? I like apple pie myself." She checks the time before nodding. "Okay. I'll be over shortly."
And she's true to her word. Shortly after disconnecting, she arrives at his farm, carrying both the pie and a package. Clearing her throat to announce her presence, she greets him.
"Sheena, welcome." Abel was already in the kitchen setting the table up for lunch for two...and now three to join them. "So glad you will be joining us today."
"Alec is upstairs, finishing up the homework I gave to him upstairs, so he'll be down shortly." With a grin. "That pie looks really good, but it's best to eat the main course because dessert will spoil everything. Just lay it down here." He said, pointing to space on the table to lay down her pie.
He noticed the package, but wanted her to get comfortable first and pulled out a chair for her to sit down. Eventually, Alec came down from the stairs to join them after he finished his morning studies, and he's turned out to be a bright, bubbly young man who stammers a lot due to feeling nervous talking to people. "You remember Alec, Ms.Sheena? Your grace, she'll be joining us for lunch today." And Alec said, "It's nice to meet you. Ms. Sheena."
With all of them settled by the table, the priest said, "Let say grace and thank the Gods of the valley to provide us this food and bless it." He said, and Sheena will see and witness that Abel and Alec said a small prayer of thanks and gratitude for their abundance, blessing the food on the table.
"Thanks for inviting me," she said. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
Placing the pie she carried in its spot, Sheena chuckled. "That's the truth. Especially when you have a sweet tooth. Then again, it makes it more appetizing." Making sure the package was unharmed, she looked towards the stairs. "How's he doing with his schoolwork?" she asked, taking the seat offered.
Before Alec came down, however, Sheena had one bit of business. Smiling, she held out the package to Abel. "This is something I promised you," she told him somewhat shyly. When he unwraps it, he'll find a framed sketch of a woman sitting upon a crescent moon and wearing clothes reminiscent of the night sky with a two-headed bird with a sun-like quality flanking her.
When the young man arrived, she nodded in greeting. "Hello, Alec, it's nice meeting you, too. Thanks for inviting me, and just 'Sheena' is fine."
Unfamiliar with their prayer of thanks, the ninja didn't say it with them, but sat quietly and respectfully with her head bowed as Abel spoke. When he finished, she offered her own prayer in the Old Language: "Itadakimasu."
"You helped enough, so I thank you. It's no trouble at all, you're always welcomed here. Alec is coming along with his schoolwork." Turning to Alec, who is blushing from modesty and shyness in a presence of a guest, Abel nudges him. "Right Alec, you studied quite hard?" And the teenager, who doesn't seem anything at all like the pope back home, "I-I'm w-working on g-getting g-good g-grades!" Poor Alec, so shy with a bit of a stuttering problem when speaking to other people.
After a short prayer of blessing over the food. "Hm? What is this?" Abel delicately tears open the package to reveal the painting she did. "Oh my? You did this? It's beautiful. Ah...just a moment, let me put it in a safe place." Alec had a good look at the painting, and said, "Oh what a lovely picture."
Abel rose to place the painting in the living room where it will be safe until he'll figure out later in which room he wants to hang it for placement. He returned to the kitchen and sat with his friends.
"All right, let's eat. Sheena, thank you for the picture. I'll figure where to hang it later, but it's lovely. Who is that in the picture? It is a moon goddess and a phoenix?"
"You're welcome," she said, blushing. "And you two are welcome at my place anytime." She turned towards Alec and gave him an understanding smile. She was shy about some things herself--only she blushed. "I'm sure you'll do all right, Alec," she told him. "Abel is a good teacher." Giving him an encouraging smile, she turned back to see Abel's reaction to his gift.
And blushed hard at both men's compliments. "Th-Thanks. I was hoping you'd like it," she said with a shy smile. See, Alec? She totally understands how you feel from time to time. And she would turn to him and ask him about his subjects while Abel was gone.
"You're welcome," she said when he returned. Taking a drink to hide her embarrassment, she looks at him in surprise. "That's pretty close! Do you remember me telling you about the Summon Spirits? Those are the Spirit of Light. Luna is the Light of the Moon, and Aska is the Light of the Sun."
"You did. The summon spirits are representatives of your world's elements and their mana." He said, nodding while admiring the picture.
"Luna and Aska. Light of the moon. Light of the sun. I love it. Seems almost like there's a reference to alchemy, but also ying and yang where both opposites are a complement to each other in perfect harmony." He said as Abel made a commentary, using his knowledge of the occult and magical references from his books.
Smiling at Sheena, "Thank you very much for this." He said, as he definitely can feel the ethereal beauty and magic from the two figures within the painting that Sheena worked very hard on. Being very excited, Abel got up to store the painting safely in the living room for safe-keeping to be hung up later once he figured it out where.
Abel returned back to finished the rest of their meal and supper. Hopefully, with Sheena as their friend to dine with them and in the future. With dinner came and gone, he turns to Sheena.
"Will you be painting more in the future? I know my next subject will be more on flowers, but with the theme of sun and moon, maybe I should paint something space and star related?" Either way, with Abel inviting her, he hopes they paint more often and do other things together since he enjoys her company and Alec's too, and whatever Sheena choose, his desire to paint mirrors her choice.
Sheena's brows rose in surprise. She had been talking so much that day, that looking back, she had sworn she had driven him crazy.
But, he had remembered...
"Yes, that's right." Her eyes narrowed humorously. "Are you sure you haven't been to my world? Or do you read minds? Because there are opposites for balance. Light and Darkness, Fire and Ice, Lightning and Water, and Earth and Wind." She paused. Where did Maxwell and Origin fit in? The former is the Summon of Birth and the other of Time--though Time has been called the great equalizer. So maybe that way.
She was going to have to think about that later--now that it's occurred to her. But much, much later. Right now, she was blushing and enjoying her meal with Abel and Alec. And hoped they'd be able to do it more often in the future.
Dinner finished, she was sipping her drink when Abel asked his question, and she felt a warmth come over her as her cheeks pinked again. "Flowers, space, and stars..." Her voice trailed off for a moment. He wanted to combine his idea and put it with something based on what she had done? "That sounds really pretty. I'd love to see it when it's finished. As for me--I already decided to do it again before I was even done with my first one!" she said with a chuckle.
"And I already know what my next subject is: that place on the beach we went to when I first arrived at sunset." Yes, he was inspiring her, and she was accepting his invitation because the ninja also enjoyed his company and wanted to spend more time with him.
[ When Abel wakes up this morning, he'll discover a two neatly wrapped packages--one with a tag that says:
"To: Abel From: Sheena"
just outside his door. Seems stealthy ninja Sheena played Santa the night before and left a crocheted black, silver, and white-striped scarf for her friend.
The other package is wrapped just as neatly and is addressed to Alec. ]
[ Thankfully, it didn't snow that day, otherwise her package may end up getting wet from the surrounding snow that covered the field, which Abel didn't clear out and shovel yet.
Abel discovered the package on time when he opened the front porch to two packages early that morning, one for him and one for Alec. When it was opened and he discovered what it was, to his delight, he has to respond with a present of his own.
Later than that day before the evening descend, Sheena will get a present in a response, waiting on her front porch.
"To: Sheena From: Abel"
Sheena will find a small collection of painted cute farm animals ceramic figurines, the types where you can see in a typical warehouse store, and people would use the figurine to decorate their shelf. She gets a sheep, a chicken, a dog, a horse, and pig inside the box. It didn't seem he made it himself, however, but rather bought from the store.]
Hi Sheena...aww, I thought it was fair. When I bought the animals, I was thinking about investing in livestock later on. I don't know what kind of animals you like, so I simply bought the entire set.

Hi, Abel! It's Sheena! I just thought I'd call and let you know that I have something for you.
